New Year: A year of reflection and looking forward to 2019!
Hi everyone! I hope you had great holidays! We had a wonderful, but VERY busy time ourselves. It always feels like I have 1 million ideas for Christmas and only end up executing a few of them so I always make plans to do them next year, yet I never do. I think the most important thing for this busy season is just to have fun and make sure that you are taking care of yourself and most importantly, spending time with family and friends you love because this truly is the season for family gatherings. No matter how busy the season gets (trust me, I know how busy the holidays can be), we should always remember that family is the reason for the season.
It is almost time for the New Year!
This year has been quite a year. We moved to California, Winter turned 3-stopped drinking milk stuff, out of a bottle, and wearing diapers-she is potty trained! (woohoo!!!), Laura started this blog for us and we have been posting for different occasions, I am still in school but working my way through, we moved out here to be closer to our oldest brother, Chris, and his family and love getting to see them all the time has been wonderful. :), and Winter got a new Christmas kitten named Coal! The year has been good and full of surprises, but we also sadly had a very large loss to the family right before Thanksgiving that has hit us all very hard and we are still mourning the loss of our family member and will be for a long time to come yet, but things seem to be getting slightly better day by day.
A new year always brings new resolutions and most people around the world make resolutions for the new year. Unfortunately, 40 percent or more of those people have given up on those resolutions during the first week and by February, the number is over 75 percent. I have to admit that I have often been one of those people that gives up (especially on weight loss), but this year, we have a new idea and plan that we think will help us keep up with the longevity of our new year’s resolutions. We are planning on going month by month to focus on something specifically for the new year, starting with Nutrition for the month of January. We are going week by week to focus on new things during the month. Week 1 is cut out junk food and processed foods. Week two is focusing on vegetables in new and interesting forms. Week 3 is different fruits. Week 4 is trying new foods/recipes and meal planning. Hopefully this new design will help us to keep our new year’s resolutions-Wish us luck!
Happy new year to you and yours and we hope that the new year brings all the wonders of the world. Don’t forget to create your resolutions and do something for good luck tomorrow! Best of luck and be safe!
See you in 2019!
